The current WWTP (wastewater treatment plant) in Vila-Seca Salou is designed for providing service to a population of 193,000 inhabitants, with a flow of 47,500 m3/day.
According to the planned urban growth in the area and the increase in demands for treated water of higher quality, it is necessary to expand the plant, increasing its treatment capacity to 60,500 m3/day, with a flow of 15,000 m3/day free of nutrients for tertiary treatment, serving a population of about 316,000 inhabitants.
Wastewater reaches the current plant driven through six pumping stations.

Catalan Water Agency awards Copisa the extension of the Wastewater Treatment Plant at Vila-seca and Salou.
