Copisa and Viasfalt are awarded the contract to extend the TCB terminal at the Port of Barcelona, Spain

The Barcelona Container Terminal has scheduled the completion of improvements to its facilities for mid-2013. With the expansion of its container yard, the terminal’s total area will come to 81 ha while the berthing line will be extended by 150 metres to reach a total length of 1,515 metres. The entrances to the new terminal will have two different locations at opposite ends for entry and exit of containers. In addition a new transformer station is to be built to provide more electrical power. As for the railway terminal, it will have six European gauge tracks next year. Their length is to increase from 450 metres to 750 metres.
