Copisa lands the contract for extension work on an irrigation canal in Costa Rica coming to $13.82 million

The contract is to extend South Canal-Primary Network in the province of Guanacaste in Costa Rica, a project funded by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI). Specifically Copisa is to build a main canal measuring 33.4 kilometres in length, along which various hydraulic structures such as dams, bridges, culverts, traps and outlets are to be built. The extension will make it possible to switch from the current system of rain-fed agriculture to irrigated agriculture over an area of 8,806 hectares.
