Ten months after starting the works at depth the excavation is completed for the AVE international gauge tunnel which will link the two stations. This is a strategic work for the future of the Spanish high speed train which will make it possible to open up all the railway connections between the south and the north of the Peninsula. It also gives a strong impulse to the future AVE connection with T4 at Madrid Barajas airport. The works have been carried out by the Joint Venture formed by Copisa, DRAGADOS, FCC and TECSA.
