The action on the façade was restricted to those areas and elements that showed a significant degree of deterioration, susceptible to the possible falling of substantial fragments and/or problems of water getting in and remaining.

To solve these problems 4 forms of action were taken: sealing cracks/ fissures, seaming up cracks/fissures, consolidation of elements and injections with liquid lime mortar, PLM or injections of natural hydraulic NHL lime mortar.

The Spanish Cultural Heritage Institute carried out all these works under supervision.

At the same time, the staircase was dry-cleaned with glass micro-spheres and the light fittings were restored and repaired.
